Love Us
Brodie’s Love began as a love story—a blend of unique tastes and passions. Founded by Adilah Brodie and her then-husband Darryl in 2013, the journey started with a simple idea: combining Adilah’s love for healthy sweets with Darryl’s preference for liquid treats. It was the perfect marriage of flavors—Cupcakes met Cognac. But the story of Brodie’s Love goes far beyond the flavors we create; it is a tale of resilience, determination, and reinvention.
In December 2019, the Mayor of New Orleans stepped in once again, bringing together her Business Economic Development team to help us secure a building. By January 2020, we were in the final stages of closing on that building—a significant milestone for Brodie's Love. Then, in March 2020, the world shut down as the pandemic brought unprecedented challenges.
Amid this global crisis, Adilah faced a deeply personal battle, contracting COVID twice and enduring a grueling recovery that forced her to relearn how to walk. Yet, even in these darkest moments, hope persisted. The Mayor’s support provided us with a foundation to rebuild as the city stood still.
In 2021, our journey took a groundbreaking turn. A renowned vineyard recognized the essence of Brodie’s Love and approached us with an opportunity to collaborate. This partnership marked a historic moment—Adilah became the first Black female Chilean wine owner. Despite undergoing rehabilitation in Georgia, Adilah worked tirelessly with her winemaker, production team, and her creative director (Her daughter) Folasade, to curate the perfect wine varieties. Fueled by resilience and determination, we stayed true to our vision, crafting exceptional wines and keeping our dream alive when it seemed impossible.
The first pallet sold out almost instantly, affirming the unique and heartfelt touch of Brodie’s Love.
By the end of 2022, Adilah made the bold decision to return to New Orleans, refocused and ready to elevate the business to new heights. Her hard work paid off—Brodie’s Love was selected for prestigious business strategy groups and roundtables, earning certifications such as DOTD DBE, DOTD ASDBE, ByBlack Chamber of Commerce, and Supplier Diversity, all of which expanded our reach and credibility.
In 2024, we built on this momentum, adding more certifications to bolster our reputation and growth, including the LED Hudson Initiative, LED Small and Emerging Business Development Program, Women-Owned Small Business, and City of Baton Rouge SEDBE. These achievements reflect our commitment to quality, diversity, and making a positive impact on the communities we serve.
March 2024 marked another milestone—Brodie’s Love was chosen out of 1,600 businesses to join the NFL Super Bowl 2024 SOURCE program, earning a place in the official directory for all 32 NFL teams. By September 2024, we had secured our first warehouse and landed inaugural contracts with The Columns Hotel and Basin Restaurant. As we continue to secure large-scale contracts, we are on the brink of transformative growth that will shape our legacy.
Adilah often says, “Brodie’s Love is to wine what Starbucks is to coffee.” It’s more than just a business—it’s a community, a celebration of resilience, and a symbol of the indomitable spirit of New Orleans.
Join us in raising a glass to perseverance, passion, and the joy that can be found in every sip.
